Hi there! In tomorrow's Sewickley Herald, you'll find information about four local Independence Day events.
Leetsdale will have a parade starting at 1 p.m. on July 4 at the Quaker Village Shopping Center and making its way onto BEaver Street to Broad Street and then to Henle Park. After that, the Community Day event begins in Henle Park.
The borough will have a military dedication at 9:30 p.m. at Quaker Valley High School. And fireworks will be shot off from the Quaker Valley High School parking lot around 10 p.m.
In Moon... children's events begin at 4 p.m. on July 4 at Moon Park. The West Hills Symphonic Band will perform at 3:30 p.m. at the ARL Amphitheater followed by Arena's Performing Art Centre Dancers, Jamie Bruno, Bryan Cole, Dave Pahanish, Brooke Annibale, Sarah Marince and Jimmy Wayne. Admission is free.
Moon fireworks will be lit from a field in Moon Park and can be seen from across a good portion of the township.
In Ambridge... Fireworks will be lit at 10 p.m. from Walter Panek Park. The Ambridge fire department says they can be seen from all across the borough. Live entertainment begins at 7 p.m. There will be no parking at the park.
And on the southern edge of the Sewickley area, our friends in the Avalon-Bellevue-Ohio Township areas will shoot fireworks off on July 6 from the Avalon Athletic Fields on Brighton Road. Events begin at 6:30 p.m. with fireworks at dusk.
In Thursday's Sewickley Herald, you can find all of this information, plus phone numbers and Web sites to get you more information on these local events.
Have a safe Independence Day weekend!
