I stopped by The Sharper Edge Bistro, never been there. They advertise a 6 pack shop. Thought I'd grab a 6 of Beck's. I expected a higher price, being Sewickley, I thought $11 maybe $12 for a 6 pack of Beck's. Wrong! How does $19.03 grab you? For a 6 pack!!! I laughed so hard I started to choke! I left. Good old Sewickley. I can only imagine what the BMW's cost at the Car Store.

Amazing. My family and I were just wondering the other day how much beer cost at the Sharper Edge place. Amazing. Someone must buy it that they keep it there.
I've never been there and don't plan to go there, especially since reading that.
We stopped at the Sharper Edge Bistro last month for a quick snack. The place was half empty when we ordered the sandwich special and a cup of soup. I told the waitress we were in a hurry. It took 30 minutes to get our cup of soup and another 15 minutes to get the sandwich. When we reminded the waitress that we were in a hurry she shrugged her shoulders.
This past Sunday my wife and I returned from out of town and decided to have dinner in Sewickley. The only place open was the Sharper Edge. When we walked in, there was a sign stating to wait to be seated. We stood there with the couple in front of us for a long time then seated ourselves. When we were done eating we filled out the satisfaction survey card that came with our bill.
The Sharper Edge needs to realize their happy customers are their most important asset. They seem to have enough staff but the staff seems to always be over worked. Although the prices are high (That's Sewickley) the food is good.
I've been to the Sewickley Sharp Edge Bistro 3 times in the last 6 months and have had different experiences from the others here. All three times we were seated right away, twice they were busy and once they were not. All were for dinner. The wait staff were very helpful and pleasant and the wait time for food was not long at all. Actually we had time to enjoy one beer and our food came along with refills. It's hard to say "what beer costs there" because there are so many different kinds and the prices vary greatly.
as a side note: The macaroni and cheese was wonderful!!!
Scooter,
I live in your neighborhood. I'll guess that you wouldn't pay a $20 bill for a six pack of Beck's beer. It can be bought at another establishment in town for $8.50.
Hey neighbor,
I would NEVER pay $20 for a 6 pack of beer either, but I'd get a beer to go with my dinner. I was actually commenting on the service =)
Scooter,
I never thought of that! You mean I could just order ONE beer with my dinner? I don't have to buy the whole 6 pack? But what if I wasn't going in for dinner? I was there around lunch time. You are confusing me. Are you saying the beer would be cheaper if I bought a dinner with it? What if I don't like macaroni and cheese? Does the beer cost more if I buy something else to eat? Was the beer so expensive because I was taking it home? Is it cheaper if I drink the 6 pack at the bistro? You were right, it really is hard to say what beer costs there! Gee Scooter, you're a life saver!!!
aww...
yes.
no, no you do not.
then don't eat.
then eat.
ummm...sorry?
no.
then don't eat macaroni and cheese.
huh?
No clue. Maybe you should have asked about that. I don't buy 6 packs to go.
again..depends on the beer..but don't drive home.
ouch..sarcasm..ooOOOooooOOooo...I love it.
My wife and I stopped at the Sharp Edge Bistro last night and couldn't hear each other talk. The place has a serious acoustic deficiency - - Everything echos. The 4 young girls at the table next to ours were screaming at each other to be heard and that didn't help.
A short greasy looking guy with a funny hat leaning to one side of his head kept coming out of the kitchen and walking around. I asked our server who he was and was told he's the kitchen manager - - - He looked like his day job was sweeping streets on a municipal road crew. I would have thought a lot more of the place if he would have stayed in the kitchen. Then a tall, large black man without anything on his head came from the kitchen with what looked like a beer picture, almost empty, with an orange liquid. He took his picture and filled it up behind the bar. He was carrying the picture like a beer mug so I assume he drinks the liquid from the picture. We both checked our food for black kinky hair before indulging.
The food was great and so was the beer. My wife's a good cook; however, the best thing she makes is reservations so we eat out a lot. The Sharp Edge Bistro could be a great place.
WOW- You have managed to cram so many sterotypes and prejudices into three, shotty paragraphs. "He was carrying the PITCHER (not picture like you hang on a wall) like a beer mug so I assume he drinks the liquid from the PITCHER."---How does one not carry a pitcher of liquid like you would a beer mug? Perhaps with their pinky raised like they were drinking some tea? Did you ever think that he used the beer to cook with? I have never stepped one foot in this place, but I am appalled that you have decided to place judgements on looks. "We both checked our food for black kinky hair before indulging."---do you realize the amount of food establishments in Sewickley that do not wear hair nets or restraints!?
You're right - - - My spelling needs improving; however, the preception we had at the Sharp Edge Bistro was real.
