Waiting for the Money

The package for Rachel in Love, the synopsis, script, top sheet, budget, list of actor attachments and assorted other talent involved, is now out to investors. The budget zoomed to 44m. I'm in the midst of discussing with a company that does puppets ala Stan Winston Studios, how to eliminate about 10m from that and build chimp models instead going the digital route. We'll see. It's only been a month that the package has started making rounds. Can't give up on it yet.

But meantime, I had a chance to introduce a director/producer to a broker here in town who was interested in her Spanish language project for the Mexican-American market here in the US and in Mexico. Along the way he said he had an investor client interested in stories about Jews escaping the holocaust. And I had a story in prep. So he asked for the treatment and supporting docs, and I quick contacted my German actor Hannes Jaenicke to see if he was still interested in playing the lead, and he was, so now I have something new in the works.

OH, but I still want to come back to Pittsburgh with two of my projects. Pittsburgh in the spring. I think the cherry tries have probably long popped by now.

Blessings and don't forget Holocaust Remembrance Day today.
