Henry W. Bucher
Longtime Bethlehem Steel worker
Henry W. Bucher, 83, of Las Vegas, passed away February 18, 2008. He was born October 30, 1924 in Pittsburgh and resided in Sewickley from 1948 through 1978 before moving to St. George, UT. He moved to Las Vegas, where he resided the past twenty years. He was formerly employed at Bethlehem Steel, and was an owner/operator steel hauler and diesel mechanic. He served in the 128th ordnance division of the Army 1942-1945 in Belgium.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Denise; sisters-in-law, Jenny Mertens, Raymonde Stippelmans, Jose Jans; brothers-in-law, Herman Stippelmans, Michael Pirard, Willy Pirard, Roland Pirard and many nieces and nephews.
A military salute & burial will be held on May 16, 2008 at 2:30pm at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA, 15017.
Marie Whalen Rhodes

Marie B. Whalen Rhodes, of Sewickley, died on April 30, 2008. She was the wife of Raymond Rhodes for 61 years. She was the sister of Evalyn Covaleski, of Mt. Carmel, Pa. She was the sister-in-law of Leroy T. and Leona Rhodes and Mildred Rhodes. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rhodes was predeceased by brothers Edward, Vincent, Frank and Joseph Whalen.

Dennis E. Brown

Dennis E. Brown, 45, of Sewickley, passed away suddenly on May 9, 2008, while working in Omaha, Neb. He was born in Sewickley to Eugene and Lillian (Drenchek) Brown. He was preceded in death by grandparents John and Emily Drenchek, and his aunt Kay Drenchek.
Dennis was a member of the VFW and Sons of Italy. He worked for the Local Union 33 out of Connecticut for 12 years in which he was also a member. Dennis enjoyed golfing and watching football, especially the Steelers. One of his favorite things was to go for walks with his wife and get ice cream.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife Kimberly (Zipparo) Brown, Sewickley, two children, Daniel D. and Cody D. Brown. CT; a sister Cindy (Gregory) Kuzma, Sewickley; a brother, David (Gloria) Brown, Moon Township; his grandmother Marge Fritz, New Brighton; aunt Goldie and uncle Pete Passavans, OH; uncle John and Aunt Nancy Drenchek, N.Y., aunt Carol and the late Walt Tabin; uncle Larry and aunt Millie Brown; uncle Jim and aunt Pat Brown, AZ; uncle Tom and aunt Bambie, MD. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Marissa and Emily Kuzma; Chris Brown; Mary Elizabeth, Emily and Sofia Zipparo. Arrangements were handled by Copeland's Sewickley Funeral Home, 702 Beaver St. Burial was in Sewickley Cemetery.
