SA senior represents state in select orchestra
Whitney Pegden, Sewickley Academy senior, performed in Baltimore in the 2005 All-Eastern Honors Symphony Orchestra.
As an accomplished cello player, Whitney was chosen to represent Pennsylvania and performed as part of a 150 piece
orchestra comprising top students from 11 east coast states and the District of Columbia.
Whitney was selected first by application and then by audition at State Honors Orchestra last April in Erie.
She studies cello with Lauren Scott Mallory of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and was encouraged in her pursuit of honors orchestras by her Sewickley Academy mentor, the late Barbara Salak.
