Upcoming in local churches
"Chicken Soup for the Soul" author Bill Sanders will present "Building Successful Families" at St. Stephen's Church, Sewickley, March 26, at 7 p.m.
Members of the Episcopal Diocese are invited to this event free of charge.
The author of 15 books, Sanders speaks to more than 200,000 parents and teenagers each year.
The event is part of St. Stephen's initiative to support families.
St. Stephen's is located at the corner of Broad and Frederick streets.

Holy Week services
The community is invited to join the congregation at St. Stephen's for its Holy Week activities.
• The traditional Maundy Thursday meal of lamb stew or an optional child-friendly meal, a special production of "Portraits of the Passion" and service of Holy Communion will begin with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.
The cost is $5 per adult or $2 per child with a $20 maximum per family.
The communion service begins at 7:15 p.m.
• This year's Good Friday service will extend from 12 to 3 p.m., the hours Jesus suffered on the cross.
The service is divided into three one-hour portions, featuring a sermon, a special set of prayers, congregational hymn, selections of scripture, meditations from the "Stations of the Cross" and a choral/or-chestral presentation from a classical Requiem Mass.
• On Saturday, Easter Eve, a casual worship service with informal communion will take place at 6 p.m. in Grace Commons.
• On Easter morning at 7:45 a.m. in the sanctuary, there will be traditional worship, an Easter message and communion; the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services in the sanctuary will feature blended worship with choir, praise team and extra orchestration.
At 11:15 a.m. in Grace Commons, a service specifically designed for families and children will be held.
The congregation will en-gage in contemporary worship with singing, the praise team and a creative presentation of an Easter message and communion.
At St. Matthews
St. Matthews A.M.E. Zion Church, corner of Thorn and Walnut streets, will host its second fish fry this Friday, tomorrow, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Dinners, which include desserts, are $8.
Sandwiches are $6.
This event is sponsored by the church deaconess group.
There also will be a bake sale.
The public is invited to attend.
